I grew up and still live in Marysville CA and Phil was a good friend of my parents. When I was 14 he was playing at The Rainbow Club and used to let me get up and sing. In 1979 I was living in Redondo Beach and he called my Daddy and asked if I was still singing and if so to get my butt to Nashville and he would record me. Nasville Superpickers were my session players. He had tje Sound Factory Recording Studio. I recorded 4 songs one called Born in the Country written by Carol Anderson of Nadhville. That record got a lot of airplay in a lot of cities and jukeboxes and kept me working. I loved Phil Baugh and he was the greatest! Gone way too soon!

Elvin Thanks for the information. Do you remember Nancy Sharp? They were married in 1956. I have pictures of them together. And so many memories she had. I have a picture of them in front of his car. She told me so many stories of him playing in Marysvill CA. She said he was the best. I seen him play on t.v. In the 1980″s he was Amazing. Elvin did he ever sing a song I think” There she go” she’s walking away? Elvin if you have the heart can you help me with Phil? Anything you can tell me. She also had a friend call Lou. debbieforgod@hotmail.com. Sounds like you were good friends. Anything you can tell me it’s so very important. Thanks Debbie

Phil taught me how to play the guitar. In 1950 I got a job with a roofing company and Phil bought a dump truck and hauled gravel and dirt for some of the building contractors. On weekends he played music and tended bar at some of the nightclubs in Marysville. He was a great guy and had many friends.

Very entertaining. Clint Strong's name also belongs on the list of badasses.

Chet Atkins is the greatest, but Phil would have to be solidly in the top 10, perhaps even top 5.
