Think Tank
Last night at Stubb's, in front of an audience of mostly family and old friends, Prescott Curlywolf played what was probably their last club gig. I think the show lasted about 90 minutes, but because the performance warped the time-space continuum until we were free-floating in a parallel dimension, that's only a guess.
The setlist (pictured below) featured cuts from 3 of their 4 albums, with Six Ways To Sunday, Funanimalworld, and Arkadelphia all represented. Sorry Dang. In addition, there were covers of Pink Floyd ("In The Flesh"), Van Halen ("Hot For Teacher"), Guided By Voices ("A Salty Salute"), Bob Wills ("Stay All Night, Stay A Little Longer"), and Minutemen ("This Ain't No Picnic"). Minds were blown, fists were pumped, and suffice to say, every damn second was a marvel of classic rock engineering meets punk rock know-how.
Get Your P-Wolf On
If you're attending this weekend's Austin City Limits Music Festival, you have one final chance to witness the armored assault vehicle that is Prescott Curlywolf. They're playing Friday, 11:45 am, at the Xbox 360 stage. After that, curtains. Trust me, real rock 'n' roll fans shan't be disappointed.
For an overview of the band's career, including copious song samples, check out my post from last November.
May the Wolf be with you.

God damn it, I missed it!
Yeah, they were asking why you didn't show ... heh. Actually, there's a decent chance that I get a copy of Wednesday night's show and if all goes well, I'll post that here. Not the same as being there, granted, but it would be a pretty sweet artifact to have.
Also, found out at ACL that the band isn't really breaking up, but it may be awhile again before they play. So, consider that the permastatus of P-Wolf. Basically, a show every 3-4 years.
Assume the duties of the real world have stalled AL for a bit. Understandable, but I'm sure I'm not the only one in cubeville who misses that moment of joy when I check in to find a new article. It's on par with the first bite of a dirty sanchez..
Really brilliant show this was, you must see it Andrew!
