I’m not on facebook, but I am able to follow the Adios Lounge page. And I have gained a lot of rock ‘n’ roll knowledge and enjoyment from this blog. So I’ve noticed that you haven’t posted for a while, and just wondered if everything is alright. I know the past few years have held some difficult moments for you–you have my condolences, for whatever that is worth.
I also wanted to say thank you. This Friday I’m driving up to Birmingham, AL to see Low Cut Connie. The only reason I even know of this band is you and your writing. There are a number of other bands that populate my collection because of you.
Pete, thank you! I am doing well, thank you for asking. A few other people have reached out as well for obvious reasons. I haven’t posted anywhere for many months. It started out as burnout and you can thank Nicky Hopkins for that. That motherfucker’s 1968 and ’69 nearly buried me. My brain was mush. I needed some time away from that, which turned into boredom/frustration/fatigue with social media and time away from there, too. That part has been fantastic. I don’t need Facebook. I’ve been cooking and started a garden with my wife. It’s been very fun.
The blog is on temporary hiatus, but not for bad reasons. I’m working on a couple different writing projects. The first is in collaboration with a painter friend of mine. Hard to explain now since we’re still working it out. The second project is an overview of some sort of ’90s music. My version of the decade, not all the popular shit. I’m also working on the structure for that, so it’s tough to go into details. Anyway, hope that helps for anyone reading this. Creativity IS being exercised, but different from before. A little more private. I’m sure that will change in the future, but it’s working for now.
Glad to hear it. I do hope at some point in the future that I get to read new material from you. You write very well on a subject I truly enjoy. In the mean time, I will read and reread previous posts. There’s plenty to keep me busy.
By the way, the Low Cut Connie show, last Friday, was great. Adam Weiner is a human-shaped ball of energy! There were probably less than 30 people in attendance which was great for my wife and I as we got an up-close-and-personal look at the show. But it also probably led to a short set, maybe 75 minutes tops. Mostly material from Dirty Pictures, Parts 1 & 2. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Take care and thanks again, LD
